Canadian Association of Nursing Research (CANR) and CNSA Joint Award

The CANR and CNSA Joint Award of $1000.00 is awarded to one student in their second year or higher in a Canadian nursing degree program. Students are invited to submit an Abstract for a paper presentation which will be reviewed by a scientific review committee. The successful student will present their paper (research or non-research based) at the CNSA National Conference.

Saint Elizabeth Health Care Scholarship for Community Health Nursing

The Saint Elizabeth Health Care Scholarship for Community Health Nursing will be awarded annually to one nursing student in his or her final year of nursing studies who shows a significant interest in community health nursing. Valued at $2000, the scholarship will be awarded to the RN student who demonstrates through letters of reference and a personal statement their intention to practice as a community health nurse.

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) Nursing Poster Presentation Award

The LWW award will be awarded annually to a nursing student who submits a poster for presentation at the Canadian Nursing Students' Association annual conference. Valued at $500 and $500 in LWW products, the scholarship will be awarded to the winning poster chosen by the Awards Committee at the annual conference. The winning poster will also be considered for publication in a LWW text or journal.

Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing Scholarship For Post-RN Baccalaureate Students

Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing Scholarship for Post-RN Baccalaureate Students was established in 2002 to recognize one post-RN student with a clear vision of what their further education means to them. The scholarship, valued at $2000.00 USD, will be award to the post-RN student who can demonstrate, through references and a personal essay on "How has entering your post-RN degree changed your view on nursing as a whole or in your personal practice?."

Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing Scholarship For Student Clinical Excellence

Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing Scholarship for Student Clinical Excellence was established in 2002 to recognize one student who exemplifies clinical excellence. The scholarship, valued at $2000.00 USD, will be award to the student who can demonstrate outstanding clinical excellence, through references and a personal essay.

The Elsevier Canada Book Award for Entering the Profession of Nursing

Elsevier Canada Book Award for Entering the Profession of Nursing will be awarded annually to the first year student nurse who submits the best essay (500 words) prepared around the following topic: "Why I chose to study the profession of nursing" The award will be $500 in books.

The Outpost - International Placement Award

The award recognizes students who seek a nursing experience in a different cultural setting. Such alternative experiences often have a profound impact on the participant and their future nursing practice, yet the financial considerations can be a difficult obstacle to overcome. The CNSA/AEIC recognizes the importance of such experiences a wishes to encourage and support students to achieve such goals.

The Education and Research Award

The CNSA/AEIC is committed to the development of undergraduate education and research, as well as, the development of partnerships among nurse researchers, nursing students, educators, practicing nurses, and clinical agencies. For this reason the CNSA/AEIC is proud to establish the Education/Research Award. This recognizes a nursing students contribution towards education and research within their profession, during this academic career.

Awards for Preceptors and Mentors

Recognizing the constant pressures facing nurses today, the CNSA, through the Certificate of Excellence in the Role of Nursing Preceptor / Mentor, wishes to recognize those who have assumed the role of Preceptor/Mentor and have made an outstanding contribution to the overall growth, development, and education of nursing students. CNSA members now have the opportunity to nominate those nurses they feel have had a positive effect on their nursing education. Students can nominate a nurse practicing in any capacity or role and nominations will be accepted at any time during the academic year.

The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions Award for Nursing Student Leadership

The award recognizes a student who seeks opportunities for leadership and professional development by being involved as a delegate (official or associate) in the National Assembly. This individual shall submit a position statement for the consideration of the Awards Committee on an issue that takes a stance on the core values of the CFNU, which are: democracy, collectivity, action, social justice, inclusion, and advocacy. The submission that best reflects these core values shall be selected. The winner will present the position statement at the National Conference for potential adoption by the National Assembly.

The President's Award for Recognition of Exemplary Service

This award shall be presented annually to a past board member (no later than 1 year past their final term in office) who exemplifies the qualities of leadership, determination, teamwork, and the objectives of the CNSA. This individual can be nominated by any member of the Association.

The Johnson and Johnson Medical Products Leadership Award was established to recognize an outstanding graduating student who is deemed to have made the greatest contribution to the advancement of the profession of nursing during his or her academic endeavors.
